This is coastal plain country. Sandy soil, a water table that rises and falls through the year, and eight months of genuine humidity. Slabs poured on that ground move a little, and the fine cracking that comes with it is normal rather than alarming. What matters is catching it during the grind instead of coating over it.
Vapor drive is the bigger issue. A lot of the housing stock here went down before vapor barriers under slabs were standard practice, so those floors move moisture upward every single day. Trap that under a coating and it lifts. We test for it up front, because finding out afterward is expensive for everybody.
Then there is the heat. A resin pour in an uninsulated garage in August behaves differently from the same pour in October, and on a metallic floor that difference shows up in the pattern. Knowing that is most of what five years of pouring in this climate buys you.

We pour most of the year. What moves a date is slab temperature, not the calendar, so a mild January week is often better than a brutal July afternoon.

The honest answer on price is that we cannot give one over the phone and mean it. Two rooms the same size can be a long way apart once you know what is under the old coating.
Which is why we come out and look. You get a number the day we walk the slab, and that number does not move once the work starts. Send a couple of photos and we will tell you whether we are in the right range before anybody drives anywhere.
How the two days run.
Day one is prep. Grinders and dust extraction come off the trailer and the slab gets taken down to clean concrete, then the cracks and pits that the grind exposes get chased out and filled. It is loud and it is dusty, and it is most of the labor in the job. Day two is the pour and the topcoat, which is the fast half.
The room has to be completely empty the morning we start, because we grind the whole slab rather than working around things. Light foot traffic is fine the next morning. Vehicles go back on at day three or four depending on how warm it is, and rushing that is the one shortcut that will mark a brand new floor.

How much dust does it make?
Far less than people expect. The grinder runs into a dust extractor at the tool, so the dust is captured where it is made rather than filling the house. It is not zero, but it is not the fog people picture either.
How long does a garage floor take?
Most two-car garages are a two day job. Grinding and prep on day one, coating on day two. You can walk on it the next morning and park on it in three to four days once it has cured.
Do I have to empty the garage?
Yes, completely. We need the whole slab open to grind it. Plan on the garage being empty the morning we start and staying empty until the floor takes weight.
Will it peel like the kit I bought at the store?
Store kits fail because they go over sealed concrete with no mechanical prep. We grind the slab open first, which is what lets the resin key into the concrete instead of sitting on top of it.
Can you coat a floor that already has something on it?
Usually. Old paint, failed sealer, and most previous coatings come off in the grind. If there is a moisture problem underneath we will tell you before we quote it, not after.
