Greenevers, NC

Resin floors for Greenevers homes.

Greenevers calls usually start the same way: the slab is dusting, there is a stain that will not come up, and somebody is tired of looking at it.

We run out to Greenevers from the shop in Goldsboro, about 40 minutes out. Greenevers is in Duplin County, and we cover the towns around it too, including Faison, Calypso, Warsaw, Kenansville.

Most garage floors in Greenevers were poured, troweled, and never touched again. That slab has been soaking up whatever landed on it ever since.

We own the grinders outright. Renting by the day puts a clock on the most important step, and the grind is the step that decides how long the floor lasts. So it goes the same way on every job: diamond grind to open concrete, chase and fill whatever cracks appear, then pour and topcoat. No shortcuts in the first half.

Local conditions

Why slabs around here fail early.

Sandy ground does not hold still. It shifts through the year, and the slab on top of it moves with it, which slowly opens the hairline cracks that are already there. Coat over those without treating them and every crack reappears in the finish, usually inside a year. When we get called out to a failed floor, that is usually what we find, and the resin had little to do with it.

Pits and cracks get dealt with one at a time. Every pit is patched and then ground back down so it sits flat with the rest of the slab. Every crack is cut out into a V and packed with rigid repair resin. Control joints are treated so they still flex without splitting the coating. It is slow, plain work, and the floor depends on it.

The slab temperature drives our schedule more than the calendar does. In a hot Greenevers garage in July, the chemical reaction that cures resin speeds up and the working window shrinks, which changes how a metallic pour has to be handled. The ground is only half of it.

What people ask for

Which rooms we end up in.

The garage is usually the first job, but it often is not the last. After seeing the bay done, people start asking about the laundry room or the sunroom, and sometimes the basement steps.

Countertops are the other side of the business. The resin pours over the counters that are already there, so a kitchen in Greenevers changes completely without a tear-out, without new cabinets, and without a week of plywood while a slab gets templated. See how countertop pours work.

Timing a pour around the weather.

The busy stretch runs from about March through June and then again in September and October. If you want a specific week, calling a month out is the difference between getting it and waiting.

What moves the price.

Price tracks the prep, not the resin. The material cost between a simple flake floor and a showpiece metallic pour is real but modest; the hours in the grind and the repair are what change the total.

Once we start, the number does not change. We set it the day we walk the slab, after we have seen the cracks and the old coating in person. Want a gut check before anyone drives out? Send a few photos and we will tell you whether you are in the right range.

How the two days run.

Expect noise on the first day. We unload the grinders and the dust extraction, take the whole slab down to bare concrete, then go back over the cracks and pits the grind opened up and fill them. That prep is the heavy, dusty part and it eats most of the hours. The coating goes down on the second day, base pour and then the topcoat.

Everything has to come off the floor before we get there, shelving and all. The grinder covers the whole slab edge to edge, so an empty room on the first morning is the one thing we ask for. After the topcoat you can walk on it the next day. Driving on it waits until day three or four.

Why us

Who actually pours it.

Every floor Alpha Resin puts down gets poured by the owner. There is no crew that shows up instead of the person you talked to.

Insured and bonded, 5 years of pours, and a phone the owner answers. See the gallery, read about the rest of Duplin County, or send photos of the slab.

If you are on the edge of town or just outside it, call and ask rather than assuming. Town lines and county lines rarely match how far a trailer actually has to drive, and the answer is usually yes. Alpha Resin covers 10 counties out of Goldsboro, and Greenevers sits well inside that.

FAQ

Questions from Greenevers customers

How much dust does the grinding make?

Less than people picture. The grinder runs into a dust extractor at the tool, so it is captured where it is made. It is not zero, and we sheet off doorways, but it does not fill the house.

Do you take on small jobs?

Yes. A single-bay garage, a laundry room, a set of counters. Small work is a good share of the schedule and it is how most people try us before a bigger job.

Is there a warranty?

Yes, and it is worth reading rather than framing. Ask when we quote and we will tell you plainly what it covers and what it does not.

How far out are you booking?

It moves with the season. Spring and fall fill first. Call and we will tell you honestly where you would land rather than telling you what you want to hear.

What if I already have a coating that is failing?

That is a normal starting point. It comes off in the grind, and what is underneath decides what the job actually is. We would rather find that on day one than after.

Got a slab in Greenevers?

A couple of pictures and a rough size is all it takes to start. We will tell you what the slab needs.
