Five years of pours, every one of them his own work.
He came to epoxy sideways, from land clearing and excavation. Poured a floor for himself, found he was good at the part most people are bad at, and went and took the classes rather than winging it.
He was running excavators. Then he poured a floor.
Beto Ponce was clearing land and moving dirt for a living. He poured an epoxy floor himself, the way a lot of people start, and found he was unusually good at the part most people are bad at: reading the resin while it moves and knowing where to push it.
That could have stayed a hobby. Instead he went and took the classes, bought real equipment instead of renting it, and started Alpha Resin. That was 5 years ago.
The business has stayed deliberately small since. There is no crew that shows up in place of the person who quoted the job. The floor you are buying gets poured by the owner, which is the only reason a one-man shop can compete with outfits that run three trucks.
What that means for your floor
On a metallic pour there is no second pass. The pigment moves while the resin cures and the pattern locks in about twenty minutes. Whoever is holding the squeegee in those twenty minutes decides what the floor looks like for the next decade, and there is no fixing it afterward without grinding the whole thing off and starting again.
So the person with 5 years of practice does that part. Not a helper, not a subcontractor who was on a different job yesterday.
The unglamorous half matters just as much. Every floor starts with diamond grinding down to clean, open concrete, because coatings do not bond to sealed or dusty surfaces and no amount of good resin rescues a bad grind. It is loud and it is dusty and it is where the money actually goes.

Floors from the last few seasons
Why no two metallic floors match.
A metallic floor is pigment suspended in clear resin, and the pigment does not stay where you put it. It drifts toward thin spots, pools in low spots, and feathers into whatever color is next to it. Heat changes how fast that happens. So does humidity, so does how flat the slab is, so does how hard you pushed the squeegee thirty seconds ago.
You can steer it. You cannot control it, and anyone claiming they can reproduce a photo exactly is selling you something. What you can promise is that the floor will be balanced, that the colors will read the way you asked for, and that it will not have a dead patch in the middle of the bay where somebody lost the thread.
That is the part 5 years buys. Not a secret product. Just having stood over enough wet floors to know what one is about to do.
What we do not do
We do not quote floors sight unseen, because the number would be wrong. We do not coat a slab that is failing a moisture test just to book the job. And we do not list prices on a website, because a two-car garage with a clean slab and a two-car garage with a peeling coating on it are not the same job.

Is it really just one person?
Yes. Beto quotes the job and Beto pours the floor. On bigger jobs there is help moving material and running equipment, but the pour itself is always him.
How long has Alpha Resin been doing this?
Five years as a business. He came to it from land clearing and excavation, poured a floor for himself, and went and took the classes once it was clear he had a knack for it.

Every finished floor goes up on the Facebook page, and the gallery on this site is all our own work. Ask when you call and we can usually point you at something in your county.
Do you do commercial work?
Mostly residential, but shop floors, showrooms and small commercial spaces are the same systems and the same equipment. Call and describe the space.
